Preliminary exercise: using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally candidates must produce a DTP mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the program.

Main task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine.
All images and text used must be original, produced by the candidate, minimum of FOUR images per candidate.

Flat Plans For Prelim Plans

The flat plan of my front cover- with two sell lines and a main sell, will all match in colour, and the pictures will be of students around the college, with an angled title and the QE logo on each page of the magazine, it brings a new style to media.

The flat plan of my contents page- my contents page is decorative to the style of the magazine, showing a new fashion of magazine, with a whole new perspective to magazine styles, taking inspiration from all different magazines.

Covers and contents pages of inspiration

Below are examples a magazine covers and contents pages that i'm taking inspiration from for my prelum. 

The colour use in all of the pictures, are coordinated, using the same colour throughout each page. The positioning of the text and layout in both of the contents pages are similarly positioned, and the two front covers are also similar in this way. The overall design is similar in each of the pages. The sell lines are all positioned in similar places, in both front covers, showing slight continuity between the different issues.
